(As we start level 3)
As we pause between battles, something strange keeps tugging at my mind. When the fighting raged, I was certain I was following the path of the stars—my fate written in their distant light. I even remember, so vividly, soaring as an eagle, high above the chaos. But now, as the dust settles, it feels like those memories are slipping away, as if they belonged to someone else, or to a dream I can’t quite hold onto.
It’s not just the magic that feels different. I could have sworn I wore a chain shirt, the weight of it familiar, and that I carried a longbow, ready to strike from afar. But as I look down now, it’s only studded leather on my shoulders and a shortbow at my side. How odd—I remember it one way, but reality is another.
Maybe the stars were never truly my guide. Their pull feels faint now, replaced by something deeper and wilder—the call of the moon and the raw power of the beasts. It’s as if, in the heat of battle, the truth of my path revealed itself: not the distant, unchanging stars, but the ever-shifting moon and the primal strength it brings. My magic, my shape, even my gear—all changed, all more in tune with the wild’s call.
So if you remember things differently too, know you’re not alone. The wilds are mysterious, and sometimes, even our own stories change beneath the moon’s watchful gaze. Let’s press on, and see where this new path leads.
